Here is my alternative outline for the show.

The Book Of Boba Fett

Fett escapes Tatooine. He steals a shuttle and makes a course for a business associate that can provide him with work.

The Empire has fallen although a few Imperials operate across the galaxy.

The New Republic has a list of the most wanted Imperial admirals and military officers. The New Republic want to capture and sentence them for war crimes.

Fett arrives at a civilian starbase and makes contact with his associate. The associate has top secret intel on the location of the highest ranked Imperial admiral still in hiding. He is launching strikes against Republic planets and military bases. The associate says the New Republic will pay a high amount to anyone that can track down the admiral.

Fett believes the high fee is worth the potential risk taking the bounty. He makes contact with the New Republic.

Fett offers to track down the admiral and bring him to justice. The New Republic don't trust Fett. He was on the payroll of the Empire, an enemy of the Rebel Alliance, but the New Republic believe his intel is genuine. They agree a covert mission and will pay him on delivery of the admiral.

The New Republic place a tracer on Fett's ship and track his journey. Fett senses they will follow him and possibly renege on the deal once the admiral is in Fett's custody. Fett plans to tell the admiral he's being used as bait to lure the admiral out of his hidden base so the Republic can assassinate him. Fett is playing both sides.

Fett convinces the admiral he can be his personal bodyguard but for a high price. The admiral pays for Fett for his services. This is just a ruse. Fett lures the admiral out of hiding. During a gun battle with Republic troopers the admiral is killed. The New Republic pay Fett for his services.

The remaining Imperials put out a termination warrant on Fett. Wanted dead or alive for crimes against the former Empire. The Imperials hire bounty hunters to track down Fett.

The New Republic will protect Fett if he gives up bounty hunting and pledge allegiance to the Republic. Fett declines. The New Republic leader grants Fett twenty four hour amnesty from prosecution. He must leave New Republic juridisction. After twenty four hours he is reclassified an enemy of the New Republic.

Fett undertakes a job to steal a valuable commodity and deliver it the client. During the mission he encounters an alien woman. They team up. She gets involved in his adventures as he battles the Imperial remants and bounty hunters. They form an emotional attachment.

Final episode is set five years later.

Fett has a family life on a remote planet. The Empire never found him. The New Republic never found him. The bounty hunters never found him.

Fett is working on his small agri-farm. His wife (the alien woman) has gone to work in a neaby town. His only child is at school.

A man approaches the farm. He talks to Fett.

“Rumour has it you used be to be a bounty hunter. The best.”

Fett continues his work.

“Fett? Your name is Boba Fett?”

Fett replies.

“I'm a busy man. Haven't time to talk to strangers.”

The man operates a holo-unit. An alien is shown on the display.

“Name your price.”

“I'm retired.”

“Think about it.”

Fett looks at the alien on the display. He's a wanted criminal. High value target,

The man places the holo-unit close by.

“I'll bid you good day, sir.”

The man starts walking away. Fett takes hold of the holo-unit and looks at the image of the criminal. Fett calls out.

“My price would be very high.”

“Naturally. I wouldn't expect anything less from a man of your renown. Are you interested?”

Fett smiles. A smile of interest.

Fade to black. End credits roll.

My outline keeps Fett a mercenary. He doesn't protect or defend Tatooine. He plays both sides - the Fallen Empire and the Republic. That might be a way to keep the character faithful to the original George Lucas version as seen in the original trilogy.

Due to the narrative structure of a tv show you would need to expand the character. I suppose he could be completely one dimensional but that approach makes it harder for an audience to relate to the character. Giving him someone to care about, albeit still retaining his hard mercenary edge, would humanize him enough to appeal to a Disney + audience.

Here's my alternative plot:-

Boba Fett falls into the Sarlacc Pit.
Boba Fett is dead.
The End.

Episode 1:

Boba Fett escapes the Sarlacc Pit.
Boba is dusting himself off when he loses his balance.
Boba falls right back into the Sarlacc Pit.

Credits roll.

End of Season One.

But my idea keeps Fett as a mercenary. He hold no loyalty to Tatooine. He's a mercenary hired by the New Republic and also playing the Imperial Remnants. Playing both sides for financial reward. And the second half of the show would be Fett as an outlaw pursued by the Imperial Remnants bounty hunters.

The main criticism of the show is Disney changed Fett's character. He went from a loner bounty hunter to a leader with a conscience. My idea avoids that character reinvention so I can't see how it's silly. You're entitled to dislike my ending but the premise - Fett playing both sides against each other - is far more in keeping with a ruthless bounty hunter's mindset.

I would argue Jon Favreau hadn't a clue who Fett was, had zero understanding of how a bounty hunter would think, operate. If you start Ep 1 of a Boba Fett show understanding who the character is, how he thinks, you can come up with a storyline that is CONSISTENT with that character. It makes logical sense to think Fett would escape Tatooine and try to prosper. Find the highest bidder, take new jobs. And in a post Empire Star Wars universe a decent twist would be the New Republic hiring Fett or using Fett. Instead we got Favreau showing Fett treating a rancor as a pet. If my idea is silly then his was sillier.

Well I loved what Disney did to Star Wars. The prequels and original trilogy had too many plot holes for my liking

All the scenes with Luke on Tatoonie. He should be in hiding from Vadar and the emperor

There are no scenes of Luke using the name Skywalker in the movie Star Wars 1977. You don't know what the hell you're talking about, Reylo.

Of course there is. Luke is referred by his last name of Skywalker several times in the movie, even when not on the planet Tatonie

^Here you said Luke openly used the name Skywalker on Tattooine. The 1st time we ever hear the name Sywalker is when Luke is no longer on Tattooine and no longer in hiding. He tells Leia "I'm Luke Skywalker, I'm here to rescue you." You don't know what the hell you're talking about, Reylo.

He grew up with his Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru. He's not exactly in hiding. There is nothing to suggest that he didn't use the name Skywalker on Tatooine, especially with how freely he tosses the name Skywalker around later.

Watch the movie for your first time, NEWB. The 1st time we ever hear the name Sywalker is when Luke is no longer on Tattooine and no longer in hiding. He tells Leia "I'm Luke Skywalker, I'm here to rescue you." You don't know what the hell you're talking about, Reylo.

Just the fact that Luke would know his real last name was Skywalker is a plot hole. I'm sure growing up at school, he learned about his galaxys history. Surely he would have known about an Anakin Skywalker either in class or in history books

Except that any series about Boba Fett would have to work around his appearances in "The Mandalorian".

Sorry, but "Mandalorian" is canon and deserves to be, and what you have there is an AU Fan Fiction.

Mandalorian isn't true canon as the OT states that Luke Skywalker was the last hope. However Baby Yoda's existence flies in the face of that as does the non cartoon introduction of Ashoka.

So fun yes and a lot better than the DT however non canon.

Well Grogu wasn't a "hope" for overthrowing Palpatine and rounding a new Jedi Order, as presumably he'd still be a toddler when Palpy died of old age, and by the time he was old enough to start school the Jedi would have been forgotten and their works destroyed. Besides, we still don't know who was holding him at the start of "The Mandalorian", it wasn't necessarily a Jedi or an ally - for all we know, Grogu could have already been lost to the Jedi. And as Ashoka never made full Jedi, and she had serious issues with the Order in the last season, I seriously doubt that she'd agree to be Obi-Wan and Yoda's pawn in their quest to over throw the Empire, while Luke was all in and believed everything they said, even the lies.

So while I absolutely consider "Mandalorian" as canon, as much canon as "Clone Wars", I wonder if there's any way to book the Boba Fett show out of the canon! I'm still pissed at it, especially about Luke's appearance. I mean Luke is a dope at the best of times, but kicking a small child out of Jedi school and sending him into a fucking war zone? That must not stand!
