That would be pretty cool. Actually, not sure why they wouldn't or couldn't bring any or all of the characters from that show into this. Quake would be good. Fitz or simmons would be great.
That might have been a hold-over from Josh Whedon and Ike Perlmutter. Coulson's death would have been cheapened by having him brought back even though it was a GREAT mystery in Agents of SHIELD and nicely done using Kree blood. Perlmutter was cheap and ruined Agents of SHIELD along with the need to have AoS stand on their own without a weekly crossover impact from the movies.
The best one was the fall and destruction of HYDRA though!!!
The movie would impact the TV series but the TV series wasn't EVER going to impact the films.

It's been TWELVE years since coulson died. I think that worrying about the legacy of the 2012 film, is a bit much now.

Secret Invasion could ret-con that? I don't think so, and I cringe at thinking the InHumans would become canon.
As a kid reader of the Fantastic Four the InHumans in print form were exciting when introduced, complete with Crystal Johnny Storm drama. They need a redux.

I didn't get much of that story arc. I was happy enough with the way they did Inhumans mostly, except for the way they just sort of faded away without comment.
