They should make a movie about his father already.
shareYeah, i am actually surprised they haven't done that yet. His story makes a good movie, hero of the french revolutionary army and then gets screwed by Napoleon because they didn't like each other. Would be definitely interesting enough and with the connection to Alexandre Dumas would be also quite relevant to people who are not aware of that side of the French Revolution.
But you could also ask why there is not yet any movie about the Haitian Revolution and François-Dominique Toussaint Louverture. Quite interesting, little known history.
Yeah, honestly, I kind of wish Ridley Scott did that movie instead.
shareThe definition of "racist" has become so broad and distorted that it's impossible to say what such a person knows or thinks. By many people's reckoning, one is a racist simply because he was born white. It doesn't matter how he feels about or treats black people. Alexandre's paternal grandmother was black, making him a quadroon. Photographs show somewhat frizzy hair, but he would probably have been taken for white by anyone who didn't know otherwise. The actor who portrays him should reflect that reality.
