Now that Scotty has shown up, we're more than halfway there regarding the original cast. All we need now is Sulu and Chekov and McCoy to complete the transition of this show to TOS. If this show last long enough, I assume that's where they're eventually headed.
I'm really looking forward to (once again), rehashing the same old stuff. Go, Paramount!
Seeing some of the crew show up from TOS makes sense to me. It isn't at all irrational that connections were formed for years that resulted in the crew as we saw it in 1966. I would object to Chekov at this point only because at this time he would be 14-15 years old.

The irony is NONE of the characters from the PIKE era crew (when the show is SUPPOSEDLY taking place) have shown up, aside from the trio they imported from STD.
No Dr. Boyce, Yeoman Colt, Lt. Tyler, etc., etc.
