The kid priest..

I would have told the kid to not set foot on my property ever again or talk to me ever again.

I was very disappointed when he gave money to the church in his will.

I'm not a religious person and I just see no need got people like that.

reply

Yeah, since giving the money to his ingrate family would have been such a great idea.

reply

Who said he should have done that?

reply

That's just it, his family didn't deserve the money. So, who does he give his money to?

I think Walt wanted to give his money to that church for two purposes - to irritate his family and the fact that the priest and him seemed to get along as the movie progressed.

I understand that you personally don't agree with this, but you should consider the character's motivations.

I'm not sure why you being religious or not has anything to do with his choices on who to leave his money too. The only person whose business it is is him.

reply

What are you talking about?

It's a movie!

I personally would not want the character from the movie to give money to the catholic church. Giving money to the local animal shelter would make more sense.

reply

Is not a movie Clit Eastwood is a real person

reply

He was doing what his dead wife wanted when he gave to the church.

reply

As you said, you're not a religious person. Walt was supposed to be. He strayed from the Church but resolved his differences in the end.

This. It's what his wife would've wanted. As is giving his house to the church which was flat out stated by Walt in his will. Now thinking of it the TC didn't even mention him giving his house to the church.
