Season 3 finale was horrendous. It was idiotic. I felt sorry for Soldier Boy

He was like the only normal person among those all those idiots. He had a deal with Bucher helping him kill his old team and he would kill Holander for him. Then out of nowhere Butcher is like: "Nope, changed my mind. Now Im gonna fight you to let Homelender live and kill more people".

It was so idiotic that I just cant. And keep in mind that Ryan would not even die. He would just lose his powers like every other sup in that room. Which would be good for him and let him live normal life. Not to mention that sups can get their powers back with that thing injected like Kimiko did.

And if Butcher, Frenchie, Hughie, MM would die then well... its reasonable cost. Because Homelander is psychopath and needs to be eliminated at all cost. Even Maeve was like: "Oh no. All this people I dont know or despise will now die, including this random kid I never heard of. Must save them all and let Homelander live".

Its hard to describe how idiotic everyone’s behavior was. And keep in mind that Homelander would kill everyone in that room. He just killed Black Noir who he considered his friend. But of course show cant kill all its main character so he just walks away. Again. Third season finale in a row.

And useless A-train and Deep are still alive and still have zero connection to main story and anything that is happening. While poor Black Noir killed for no reason.

It was by far the worst episode of the series, and it was some of the worst writing I've ever seen. Everything the season built up for was a waste of time.

The whole season was to get Soldier Boy to kill Homelander, then at the last second they choose to stop him and not stop Homelander.

It felt like the writers realized they needed an arc for S4 and shoehorned Ryan in at the last second. One fight with Butcher and he's all about Homelander? He's suddenly forgotten all his mom taught him, that Butcher was trying to protect him with his body from the blast, and instead has a sinister smile at the end? It felt so dang forced and nonsensical.

Frenchie and Kimiko's arc was a colossal waste of time. The showrunners spent hours talking about them getting free and yet in the end they are in the EXACT SAME PLACE working for the CIA.

MM is still the same, and he didn't even get revenge on Soldier Boy, which was his arc. They don't know what to do with his character.

Hughie and Starlight didn't change, except now she's 'officially' quit as Starlight. Whoopidee do. That whole thing where she levitates off the ground did nothing but push the bad guy back a few feet. Most boring couple on TV.

Maeve should have died - that would have been a noble sacrifice. Nope. Now she's all chummy with her ex and going to Modesto. Why give her the nice ending?

Waste of a fun death with Black Noir. Guy spends an entire episode reliving Soldier Boy at Chuck E Cheese, growing the courage to go face him, and Homelander just kills him. I like subverting expectations, but they should have done that with Maeve instead.

Butcher has roughly 16 months to live. Okay cliffhanger but it just tells me he is going to live to the end of S5.

I like the show, mostly for the shock value and the 'I can't believe they went there." I just feel like this season was all over the place and much ado about nothing.

They weren't going to kill off Homelander yet. He's the whole show. Don't expect him to die until the last episode of the final season, which will be the next one. His son will be the one to kill him, probably to save Butcher or avenge his death.

They overpowered Mauve in the final episode of season 3 and gave her a happy ending because she’s LGBT

About Mauve, Eric Kripke outright said:

“ We imply that had it kept going, she might have won. And then we worked really carefully and hard about — from the beginning I said to the writers, "She's not dying. I am not going to be the showrunner who kills off an LGBT character, like, fuck that. So you better start getting your heads around 'How do we have her gracefully leave, but give her a happy ending?'"

*Spoilers ahead*

They TOTALLY bastardized the comics for this season and it pissed me off...in the comics it wasn't Soldier Boy who was pitted vs Homelander, Soldier Boy was Homelander's little bitch I guess they turned it around for the Amazon series and made The Deep Homelander's bitch. In the comics Butcher went fucking batshit and killed just about everyone and Hughie stopped him from completely killing all the supes.

Damn sounds way better than what we got in the show. Why on earth would they make a change like this? It doesn't feel like it couldn't have worked in the show. Nothing contradicted anything from the sounds of it.

the comics sucked

I loved season 3 up until the finale and completely agree. Butcher isn't the kind of dude that wouldn't sacrifice a kid if it meant killing the greatest threat to humanity. He's too pragmatic for that.

The moment he stepped in, and then looked at homelander like "yeah were a team now but not best buds so let's not talk about this again", I just rolled my eyes.

It sucks because this has been a show that up until that moment, has been pretty unpredictable.

^ This sums it up.

Good season but terrible finale.

Yes, I was siding with Soldier Boy there. Even if Ryan dies with Homelander, you have to take that loss. Killing Homelander is worth it

I like this show and I am liking season 4. That being said, the end of season 3 was a joke. They should have just had Homelander over power them all.
They clearly had the advantage and the whole Ryan thing was not handled right. Soldier Boy was a great character, getting rid of Maeve was a mistake, like old Noir not the new one.
