Episode 2. Even more boring. I had to fast forward

Nothing happened at all. Only endless boring talk shot on sound stage in decorations and green screen. When you watched Game of Thrones you felt they shot on location. Here it always feels like its green screen for outside shots. So painfully visible at that bridge meeting for egg.

Everyone is miscast. No characters to care about. All actors are acting horribly. Princess Rhaenyra is the worst. How she got past audition is beyond me. Her face is never moving.

Partially agree about the noticible CGI scenery & the episode being a bit slow. I think the acting is mostly fine but I agree about the Rhaenyra actress. She has been pretty flat so far.

reply

Milly Alcock has been following the Director's instruction. He told her to play Rhaenyra with an inner stillness and that's what she's doing. I like it.

And I thought episode two was much better than episode one. For instance if you like a story well told (ep 2) as opposed to watching people smash each other's heads in for no good reason (ep 1).

reply

Agreed, the second episode was better than the first.

Cersei Lannister was a constant "inner stillness" as a character. And Lena Headey played it with perfection. You could see all her feelings inside despite having still poker face all the time. Thats what good acting is.

Milly Alcock is just bad actress and has zero charisma to pull of that role she is suppose to play. Honestly I cant see why anyone in that kingdom would want to have her as their queen instead of charismatic Daemon.

She kinds remind me young Daenerys from first season. When she was confused, didnt have power and kinda floated along with events. Only Emilia Clarke had tons of charisma playing that character and we all loved her.

Here I honestly dont understand why I should care about this still character with no emotions.

So you claim to know what good acting is and yet you can't see Milly Alcock's inner emotions as Rhaenyra. I can and she is every bit as good at it as Lena Headey, maybe even better. I don't rate Lena Headey very highly as an actress. From what I've seen of her she is a solid actress but has limited range.

Milly Alcock is just bad actress and has zero charisma to pull of that role she is suppose to play. Honestly I cant see why anyone in that kingdom would want to have her as their queen instead of charismatic Daemon.

Well if you hadn't already established it in the previous quote this one nails down the fact that either you don't know what you're talking about or you're just trolling. Milly Alcock is a good actress and it's a pity they will be casting someone else as the older Rhaenyra. Daemon is a thug and a wild card. Rhaenyra is calm and considered. I could well see why people would prefer her on the throne rather than Daemon.

Well they were both young weren't they, still finding their feet. It sounds like you want Rhaenyra to be much the same as Daenerys. But what would be the point of that ? We've already had Daenerys and Rhaenyra is a different person.

Here I honestly dont understand why I should care about this still character with no emotions.

Ah well you've given yourself away as a troll by overdoing it. Rhaenyra clearly has emotions. Better luck next time.

Milly Alcock is bad actress and cant sell whatever script was asking her to sell. If you dont see it then its your problem.

I watched 2 episodes to make up my mind about show and characters. They didnt convince me that I have to root for any of them. Even Matt Smith is empty as Daemon. Like he doesnt know what to play.

I wonder why they kept Matt Smith as older self but changed Rhaenyra to older actress. Was it plan all along or they just decided that older actress will play better older Rhaenyra. While Matt Smith is good enough actor to pull off both timelines....

Older actress is just 8 years older.

reply

I don't know what the thinking was behind replacing Milly Alcock with an actress that doesn't look much older than she is. Doesn't make much sense to me.

reply

Same with Olivia Cooke replacing Emily Carey who is much better in every way.

reply

I've not seen anything Olivia Cooke has done but the girl who plays Alicent is fine and she and Milly Alcock make a good pair. We shall see how the recasting pans out.

I looked Olivia Cooke up and she's another of those darker English girl types. She looks similar to Jenna Coleman and Daisy Ridley.

I thought the second episode was better than the first. I think that most of the actors so far are doing fine.

reply

Yeah. An episode of anything GOT-themed that's devoid of titties and blood'n'guts is comparable to an AR-15 without bullets. Safe, and also highly ineffectual

reply

You have obviously never watched Better Call Saul.

reply

Why would I ?

reply

You said something similar about the 1st ep, that you couldn't get past 20mins. So why did you watch the next? If I felt this way about a show, I'd never waste another minute on it.

reply

Well decided to give it another chance out of boredom ))) Was bored even more.

I guess this will be it for me. I watched again trailer. And it looks like whole season will be like that second episode. There is no reason to watch it and root for anyone. Matt Smith is boring as villain too. He has nothing to play really.

Overall it feels like a CW remake of original. With CW level of acting. Including cheap CGI.

reply

Fast forward to what ? You are implying that this series will have something worth fast forwarding to ?

reply

Go watch Marvel.

Yay, Carter👏🏻. You’re the one ray of light on this otherwise mewling little bitch thread.
