Low rating and forgettable, sad. Rating is too low for me to even consider wanting to watch it.

same ol' netflix quantity over quality.
they just MAKE FILMS. they don't MAKE GOOD FILMS.
sad waste of resources.... but.... fast food is still thriving and growing... so... there it is.

Yep - it's very, very strange. They have everything - actors, directors, sfx, budget - the only thing they are missing is the script. Why can't they pick up old but decent sci-fi novels and turn them into films? There are plenty of those. Like I said - it's very, very strange.

Day’s adaptation strips away most of the political background of the 2017 novel (...)

...Yeah, I figured as much.

I don't suppose fitting all of Kalfař's novel into a single film would even be possible, but regardless, that's a shame. I can't imagine the Czech setting really serving any purpose without it.

That's why I quit reading trite reviews years ago and started deciding for myself. "Spaceman" is an excellent psychological drama about relationships, set in space and on earth. Sandler and everyone else give solid performances. If you're looking for space chases, space battles, space explosions, etc., it's not for you. Don't worry, there'll be "Star Trek XIX" or "Star Wars XXXV" coming out any time now.
