this story is so fking stupid

spiderman jumped the shark. it's both boring and stupid. spiderman's motivations doesnt even make sense. he's gonna save randoms just because he knows of them? it's like a bad cartoon episode.

reply

The really stupid part I think is making everyone forgetting Peter Parker could fix the breaking of universe.

And if that could just fix it, do people really think Dr Strange would hesitate even for a second?

reply

I agree, but we're in a tiny minority. The film is one of the great crowd-pleasers of all-time. *shrug*

reply

Yeap,. "5 supervillains and aunt May enter an apartment", sounds like the beginning of a joke but it's the plot of this movie

reply

i never thought of it this way. time to look for the rule34 of this scene...

reply

Piper Perri likes this

How does him not wanting to ruin the lives of everybody he cares about stupid? Spider-Man isn't the type of character to just let characters die even if they are villains. Go troll somewhere.

reply

huh? he put everyone at risk by trying to save 5 villains that are not even from his universe. his aunt's death was a waste and couldnt garner a sliver of sympathy from me. his story is ruined if an important character dies and i don't even care. also what if i told you that your opinion is not the only one that exist in the universe? just because someone disagrees with you doesnt mean they're trolling. what's wrong with you?

reply

Save randoms because he knows of them? Try a little harder if you're going to be a troll. Spider-man's entire existence is saving randoms, whether he knows of them or not. With great power, etc. etc.

When he learned that the villains would be returned to the moment of their death, he did what any hero, and any sane person would do-- he tried to find a way to save them. What about that fails to resonate with you?

reply

trying to do something that might result in the destruction of the world? how bout this. would you watch a spiderman movie where he kidnaps pedophiles and tries to get them to reform? just because it can make sense doesnt mean it is a good story.

reply

What doesn't make sense is your comparison.

He knows that the five villains aren't all evil people. Three of them, the Lizard, Dr. Octopus, and Green Goblin, are good scientists who were in accidents that gave something else control over them. The other two are also victims of science-gone-wrong, and may or may not be able to be rehabilitated. When given the choice to send at least three innocent men to their death or create a cure for them, he made the ethical choice. And even in the case of Sandman and Electro, is it ethical to condemn them to death when he can possibly save them?

That bears no similarity to your example at all.

reply

so like he saved 2 pedophiles then? according to your argument, he only knew 3 of them weren't evil. also he actually didnt condemn anyone to death. endangering the whole universe so you can satisfy your own guilt or need to be a world savior is ridiculous. the point here is what makes a good story? it sure as hell isnt saving 5 villains but also risking destroying the world.

reply

Oh thank god. I was worried it was just me! The initial premise is just stupid, Far From Home aside. I mean Peter helps in saving billions if not trillions across the universe including many human's spouse, parents, kids, etc. and suddenly everyone hates him as a super villain just because of the whole Mysterio thing??? Yeah.... I don't think so. Dr. Strange came off a a bit of a buffoon too which is not at all in keeping with prior character development.

reply

yes the script was severely contrived just to set up the nostalgia characters coming back. also the ending was a cheap way for peter to get a new gf and drop his best friend. truth is, the best part of this movie WAS the two other spidermans interacting with this spiderman but how the movie got there was so fucking stupid.

reply

That's spider-man's whole deal. He tries to save people. He save people he doesn't even know on a regular basis.

Imagine saying Spider-man jumped the shark for doing something he always does.

reply

I saw it and still couldn’t tell a thing about it
