so the famous, known musicians we have Jimi Hendrix, Louis Armstrong, Mozart...

who was the flautist?
& the drummer?

The drummer was definitely a fictional character made for the movie since she came from 11000 BC. The flute player is supposed to be the inventor of music from ancient Chinese legends.

I suppose that they wanted to pull people from a wide range of time periods, and they already had two from the 20th century. So since they decided to get someone from before recorded history, it would have to be a fictional character because we don't have any knowledge of those times. That's my take anyways.

I'd have gone for either Ginger Baker, Keith Moon, Dave Grohl or Ringo Starr but they went for a Stone Age guy which isn’t even funny, if they wanted another black person in their band they could have gone for Tony Thompson who was awesome in Chic and the Power Station!

Interesting note for you - Ginger Baker was in Hawkwind for a time. What an excellent drummer!

Damn! You made the exact same mistake I did. It wasn't until I rewatched the movie that I noticed they referred to the drummer as "She". I thought it was a guy as well the entire first time I watched it.
