When all of the writers got together playing poker etc, the back and forth banter was too quick and precise, with no room to breathe. Like noir dialogue on steroids.
No one or group talks like that.
And it was hard to follow.
I did like the behind the curtain of Citizen Kane tho.
I always thought Orson Welles wrote it.
Plus it piqued my interest in 'Heart of Darkness'.
I agree with you. I'm seemed like it was trying to be smart throwing in names that they expected the audience to know.
