What is the motive of villain?

Why has this movie got so good reviews?it literally has no plot.what is the reason behind the villains killings?

This is from an interview with the director and posted in this forum by SASKIA47.

I had a “Part 3” in mind when writing “Part 2.” There are so many questions brought up in “Part 2” that are not answered, and that was part of the design because I know I’m going into a “Part 3.”

I saw terrifier 1.There is very little difference in plot of two movies. In both movies it is not mentioned why the clown kills.

Non sequitor.

Yeah they have not really given us much of a motive or backstory to Art the clown. Part 3 hopefully does

In Terrifier 1 he went after the two girls because they dissed him in the restaurant. Then he went after anyone who got in his way. In this movie he mostly killed people who had no contact with him whatsoever.

Nobody knows yet. It'll be explained in later films.

The first film was simply a showcase for Art. This film is laying the foundations of the lore.

For the record the director has warned people that his commentary for this film (which will be available on it's home media releases) contains spoilers for the next films. So perhaps listening to his commentary when it's released will contain background info for Art and his motives.

I always think horror movie villains are more sinister when they have no motivations.

If they're random people killing for no reason, that's scarier because it could happen to you, at any time, for no reason whatsoever.

If he's killing people who he has some connection to, or reason to kill, that becomes less true.

This guy gets it.

Having a major motivation for killing lots of people is the foundation for all slasher killers. I think it's odd that Art has zero motivation for what he's doing after four hours of film.
