Which was more absurd...

Rhaegal getting hit with three perfect Scorpion bolts before Dany even saw the Iron Fleet?

Or like a dozen of them missing Dany when she was closer and going straight at them and they all had a clear shot?

They could have had one or two of them hit Drogon in a non-lethal area at least to make that scene more acceptable.

reply

Rhaegal getting hit with three perfect Scorpion bolts before Dany even saw the Iron Fleet for sure.

reply

I feel they could have shot that scene a lot better. Like have all the ships bolts have been coming at them and like two hit Rhaegal who was in front of Drogon.

reply

No, the 2nd scenario is more absurd to be sure. Rhaegal getting hit isn’t absurd at all, the Ironborn know their stuff & are masters of their craft.

Dany as well as everyone else there were unware of their presence. That’s what happens when you take a leisurely stroll (flight) over enemy infested waters.

Thing I find myself disagreeing with many of my fellow MovieChatters in that I’m of the opinion a well struck arrow is faster than the speed of any dragon or quarry to evade.

With that being said Dany flying ‘intentionally” into the line of fire & not being harmed or hit is the more absurd of the 2.

reply

Oh, the first. When the scene came on I slapped my forehead and yelled to the cats "OH COME ON, HOW COULD THEY SEE THE DRAGON WITHOUT DANY SEEING THEM???".

And why didn't Danerys bother to secure her fucking home base and its waters? Gawd, suddenly everyone on the show is an idiot.

reply

More like why didn't the Lannisters take Dragonstone?

They made it seem like Dany showed up and the castle was empty. Literally. Like the Lannisters wouldan't have sent people to secure the island ASAP. And then they didn't take it the second time either. Just hung around behind some rocks until Dany's dragons showed up. No one in the castle saw them. Maybe Dany left it empty too. Heh.

reply

Everyone on the show got stupid after Tywin Lanister got killed. Cersei lost the city to the "High Sparrow". Lmfaooo! All because she didn't want to marry the "renowned pillow bitter"?? Or because she wanted to get rid of or control the new queen. Lol. So stupid

reply

Didn't Dany use ships of the Iron Fleet provided by Theon and his sister to sail to Westeros in the first place?

I figured that Dany saw the Iron Fleet but figured it was the ships she commandeered. Clarify for me if I'm wrong.

reply

Drogon is more experienced at dodging deadly projectiles. Plus the other dragon should have stayed on injured reserve a while longer before trying to fly again.

reply

What was more absurd was that Dany didn't leave anyone behind to garrison or patrol Dragonstone after she left to go up north with Jon.

reply

More or less absurd than Cersei not sending someone to claim Dragonstone after Stannis apparently left the place totally abandoned for years?

reply

Hmm, less absurd I guess, since Jon urged Dany to send her entire army north. I think in the book Cersei sends people to take Dragonstone, but I forget if they get it or not.

reply

The most absurd was that no one in the history of Seven Kingdoms ever came up with an idea of fighting dragons with a slightly bigger crossbow.

reply

Wasn't Westeros conquered by nothing but 3 dragons?
