Why didn't the Night King

throw the spear at the dragon Dany was riding. This would have stranded all of them on the rock and most assuredly game set and match?

reply

One of them did throw a spear at Drogon, but it narrowly missed.

reply

But that was the second, the Night King Killed Viserion first, and like the OP said he should have aimed for Drogon/Daenerys.

reply

Maybe the NK was going after the active threat because Viserion was firebombing the wights at the time and Drogon was just parked like a dragon Uber waiting for his passengers.

reply

Haha dragon Uber!

reply

I was wrong, though. Drogon was also spitting fire at the time.

reply

hahahahaha!

I guess the Night King was aware that there are still 7 episodes left, so it’s too early to kill off a bunch of major characters.

reply

I don't think the Night King gives two turtle shits about Dany, Jon or any of them. He didn't really have a clear shot on Drogon, tho I don't know why he couldn't have maimed him, but good ethical Hunter he is, he was waiting for the killshot. And besides, what threat are any of those men to him? They can't even get close to him. I think he must have knew letting them sit there was baiting the dragons somehow. That must be why he allowed the wights to stand there for hours like idiots while the lake refroze.

I agree with everything you are saying, except to me it seemed like he does care about Jon Snow. The way he staired at him while he was retreating after the first battle they faught against him. The NK also seems to care about Bran also so I'm wondering if there is some sort of Stark connection.

Its bad writing. The writing of the show has really gone downhill this year. You can tell they know its coming to an end. Its still entertaining though.

reply

Ah yes. The making of the undead dragon was toooooooooo soon, it should've been done in the last episode in the last minute to give the scene more tension and chaos.
