I never did like the TV series and anything to do with Star Trek. However, this movie is great, and I mean great. I like the new series with Pine and the new Spook. The only thing I didn't like about this movie was the horrid fight scene in the bar at the beginning.
shareI thought this was a better film than I expected. The idea of rebooting with a new Kirk, Spock and McCoy sounded like a mistake but they made it work. Do I like it as much as the original? Not at all. But it's entertaining in its own way.

Too bad it didn't go anywhere beyond 2 sequels, whereas the tv series has had a least 5 spin-offs over a period of 50 years, more than any other tv show in history.
