Technically this is the real Captain Marvel.

Does that make fans of this Marveltards?

reply

Anyone willing to give this movie a chance, including fans of Marvel films (by far the most critically and financially successful superhero/comic movies today, by the way), will not care about the name as long as the movie is good. That’s called being open minded. Less open minded viewers like you are obviously consumed by this.

Now knowing how Marvel’s Captain Marvel (very appropriate name, be honest with yourself) will be known as the DEFINITIVE Captain Marvel worldwide, then predictably the DCeutards will keep crying about this issue. And why would “clueless” Marvel fans go see a flick titled Shazam if they know nothing about the character? Heh, so many of you DC fanatics are so mindless that it’s highly likely a bunch of you will go see the MCU film trying to convince yourself that in reality it’s going to feature the DC character. Lmao!

A cheesy “mystical” name like Shazam fits this DC character much better anyway. So suck it up, jimmy boy.

Ain't no fan of either fam.

Dark Horse, Vertigo, WildStorm and Avatar is where it has been for a long, long time now.

Enjoy your happy meal.

For sure. So many Vertigo stories would be so good adapted to the screen. They seem to have a little firmer stance aligning with real life. I'm sure that's why the Preacher series is so damn good. Bring on Swamp Thing,Transmetropolitan and Scalped! I hated Y the Last Man, but nobody's perfect.

True. DC got there first. But we're just talking name and not character. Aquaman is basically the same character as Namor but Namor came first. 2018's Aquaman kind of removes any chance of a Namor movie so both companies need to take their victories where they can get them.

If anything, Marvel's Captain Marvel sped up this movie's production.

Actually, Fawcett Comics got there first. DC just screwed them over with lawyers, sat on the character for a couple of decades to the point where they could no longer have the copyright to have a comic called Captain Marvel, and then brought the character back. A lot of DC fans forget that part.

Why does everything having to do with DC or Marvel end up with cheap shots at the other?
Just live and let live.

reply

Don't care , and you shouldn't either

reply

No, it merely underscores the ineptitude of DC. They had to rename their hero because they were outfoxed by Stan Lee. :)
