Dumbest show ever.....

Just started to watch this from season 1,what was all the hype about it rubbish, stupid even I say the writers just made stuff up as they were going along, there nothing original or believable about this show, obviously aimed at young teen audience, why they classic shows like the Wire,Deadwood etc had to be cancelled so they could make crap like this ,I turned it of after episode 5......

Original poster is right. The show is not just hyped, it's overhyped. Sutherland shouting and pointing guns at people....ZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

reply

Yeah, I watched the first episode. So tiresome I never went back.

I HAVE NEVER SEEN A SINGLE MINUTE...I GAVE UP HOUR LONG DRAMAS SOMEWHERE IN MY EARLY 30S...JUST NOT ENOUGH TIME.

I didn't think I was gonna like it but I was hooked after episode one. I still love this show.

Maybe if 24 stood for 24 days, it would be partially believable.

You didn't get to Jack in the Limo? Absolute fail here.

One of the best television shows of all time, and exactly what the nation needed after 9/11 (even though a good chunk of Season 1 production and the pilot was filmed before 9/11).

The premise sounds like a snooze fest. Never had the desire to watch this.

reply

Actually it was just the opposite. Sure the first episode moved a little slow but essentially every episode was a cliffhanger for the next. Each season was basically broken into 3 storylines of 8 episodes each. Jack would have to stop a thing from happening which he would but something related would come up and so on.

Was it believable? Of course not but was it extremely fun and fascinating? Yes.

My sister borrowed my DVD set of season 1 from me and decided to check an episode out around 9pm. She did not go to be until 4am. Twists and turns and people you can't trust make the show successful. Did it over do some things, yes but depending on your approach to the show they could be things you look forward to.

addition:
The show was done in a "real time" format that added to the intensity. When the premise as listed above is read you miss this. Each hour episode took an hour in the show. The episodes would be titled 9:00am to 10:00am. So when they say he has to "race against the clock" they mean it
