Mel confirmed hes directing at the event he attended last night

Richard Donner did several times too over the years, along with Goonies 2.

reply

I wonder why Shane Black isn't directing. He seemed to be the most logical option/choice to direct after Richard Donner passed.

The Predator? Also Black hasn't had anything to do with series since LW1/2

Where would Roger Murtaugh fit in all of this? According to the first movie, which came out in 1987, he was 50 years old. So according to movie time, given that Murtaugh was apparently born in December 1937, he would be 83 going on years old right now. Obviously, Murtaugh would have to be long retired from the police force by now.

Murtagh discovers the nurses in the old folks home are using the place as a front for money laundering and illegal prostitution and gambling. He calls upon his old friend Riggs to help him investigate..

Lethal Weapon 5 Has To Redeem The Franchise After The Fourth Film

If Lethal Weapon 5 does happen, the legacy sequel needs to address the racism of Lethal Weapon 4 and redeem the franchise's reputation in the process.
