good movie. best of the prequels by far.

this was the only good movie from the prequels.

the two leads are good looking

great scenes:
car chase through the city (one of the greatest scenes of all time)
jango obiwan fight
asteroid field battle
battle of geonosis after the arena (one of the greatest scenes of all time)

beautiful shots:
the water fall on naboo
anakin and padme at the castle overlooking the lake
the living room with the fireplace
the dining room

romance

across the stars theme. the only great new theme from the prequels.

-------------------------

the movie would have been much better without the diner scene and the yoda fight

i don't care too much about bad dialogue and bad acting. it hurts the movie. but the most important thing about a movie is the visuals and the music.

the reason it gets so much hate is because there's a ton of bad stuff in it.

still it deserves 60%

-------------------------
so now that i have spoken. forever it will be known. attack of the clones is the only good prequel.

Agree this is the only semi watchable one. Great action, Christopher Lee is a great villain, and Natalie Portman's abs.

I beg to differ. Revenge of the Sith was the best of the prequels in my opinion because it was connected to A New Hope and while the dialogue in that movie was mediocre, at least it wrapped up the story on how Anakin became Darth Vader which became more chilling. Attack of the Clones does have the best action sequences, but some of the dialogue didn't sparkle. Still it's better than the sequel trilogy.

The sequel trilogy though has by far the most racial diversity and more female strong characters. Thats worth a few extra points on the ratings

reply

No it fucking doesn't!

"The sequel trilogy though has by far the most racial diversity and more female strong characters."

Sorry, but having a main female character be all perfect without any training doesn't count as strong. Princess Leia was already strong in the original trilogy because she contributed more to the story.

I think the only scene in this whole movie I liked was the fight between Obi Wan and Jango Fett on the rainy clone planet.

I agree, this movie has always been my favorite among the Prequels. It's colorful, action-packed, spectacular, and has a mix of dialogue so cheesy it's Absurd-with-a-capital-A, and a real looming darkness. It's just the sort of movie I like!

"RotS" is probably a better movie in cinematic terms, it's more spectacular and there's more real meat to the story, but there's real tragedy there so I'm not as eager to watch and re-watch it. That's my personal taste, I like fun and fluff, and "AotC" is the most fun and fluffy of the prequels.

It deserves its reputation. It put the dated CGI and Lucas worship before storytelling, plot, and acting. If you're into the pretty landscapes, good for you. Lucas pushed CGI technology a long way. It's still a bad movie in a terrible trilogy.

I really liked the dreariness of Kamino. When I first saw this in the theater back in May 2002, it was on a dreary, rainy day and that just really resonated with me back then. I really liked the Kamino scenes.

While The Prequels are all "flawed movies," I did enjoy them and there are some memorable scenes in them, IMO.

I really like it too although I also like The Phantom Menace. I also like the very beginning with the big spaceship flying and I like the clone planet not just the fight.
