Not only does "Spider" who was Derek's rapist(but credited as "Huge Aryan")look non-White but two other members of the Aryan Brotherhood in the prison scenes didn't look White either. One member looked like a mix of Black/White or Hispanic and another member looked like a light-skinned Hispanic male. And even the last two skinheads whose mugshots were shown when Sweeney goes to the police station earlier in the movie looked Hispanic as well.
shareDerek's rapist doesn't look non-white. What, because he has brown hair and brown eyes? Millions of Caucasian, European people have dark hair and eyes, and even olive skin. They are still white. Also, the movie made it clear that the Woods had a deal going with the Latins to distribute drugs throughout the prison. And Derek rocked the boat by loudly objecting to that alliance, on racial grounds. That's why he was attacked and raped. So sure, it makes sense that the people who attacked him might be both white and latino.
shareI don´t think it was solely because of him rocking the boat with his racial ideology. It was his refusal to sit with them and then being seen playing hoops with the black guys that seemed to be the catalyst for Derek´s rape. Even Derek´s phoney Aryan Brotherhood pals weren´t seen mingling with the blacks in the prison yard.
