James Cromwell

Great roll, good acting, and effective. His accent was inconsistent. Thats the only flaw for him.

I agree. He was a great villain. Wish he could've been nominated for an Oscar. I think my favorite scene with him has got to be where he shoots Jack Vincennes and then says, "Got a valediction boyo?" and Jack responds, "Rollo...Tomose. Heh." It's so totally unexpected when you first watch it too. I like to watch this movie with people who haven't seen it to see their reaction to that scene. I also like at the end when Exley says, "Rollo Tomose." to him and he asks, "Who is he?" and he says, "You are. You're the one who gets away with it."

I'm going to have to see this. I've always enjoyed every moment James Cromwell been on the screen in the movies I've see him in.

Have you seen Still Mine? Really good movie....

I saw that one sometime ago. I was impressed. I like him so much in sympathetic roles. I'm wondering how I'm going to take to his villainous side in L.A.

reply

"That'll do pig. That'll do."

Now get on to finding a way to watch L.A. Confidential. Buy it! It's such a fantastic movie.

I agree, he was good apart from the faltering accent, he’s a good actor, I thought he was great in The Green Mile as well.

reply

I forgot about him. His character's wife stole the show in that scene.
