I love how after David delivers that line the dad snaps his head and looks at him all pissed off, lol wtf was wrong with David asking Nicole to get him a coke? lol the dad looks at him as if he gave Nicole a command in an aggressive voice or something.

Like "How dare you ask my daughter to bring you a coke in my house, only i ask my daughter to bring me a coke" lol.

Its as if thats one of the first big clues that David's crazy to the dad, lol i just didn't find anything wrong with it.

That was the problem though, he didn't ask, he just told her to do it. That's not the way I was brought up to treat people, especially when you're a guest in their home. If that was my daughter I'd have been pissed at him and even more pissed at her for taking that from him.

I mean is it really a big deal he said "Get me a coke" instead of "Will you get me a coke?", i mean i guess i see what you mean but i dunno its not unheard of for a boyfriend to tell his girlfriend to get him something. Guess it just depends on how you view things like that, cause at least in my family something like that isn't a big deal.

I mean sometimes my niece comes over and she brings friends and her friends will tell her to get them something to drink or eat, i guess some can see things like that as rude but i don't.

In my experience it is best to be polite when asking your lady for a favor...
Better yet, just get your Coke yourself, after properly asking if you can have one of course...this is how a gentleman should behave

David came off like a domineering jerk in that scene and Pop-Dukes saw his true colors

Lol its not like he said "Hey bitch! get me a coke right now!" i mean how many times have any of us told someone to get us something from the fridge? you tell friends that all the time "Hey man get a Pepsi from the fridge".

Daddy was overprotective of Nicole and even asked if David was a good guy when he heard about him. He wanted to meet him to make sure he could be trusted. David wasn't requesting it nor did he say "please", plus he also told her he didn't want to get to the park before dark. He EXPECTED her to do his bidding for him and daddy picked up on it instantly.

It was a flex move. He did it in front of her dad....trying to set the rules by saying she was his. David has that macho alpha swagger about him.

Old values vs New Values.

Back in the day you'd be polite, and ask the dad for permission, try to win him over.

Now you barge in the house like you own and act like the dad should be submissive to you.
He should be proud you're doing his daughter.

The big issue with the Get me a Coke. It’s not that he didn’t he ask politely and demanded it. It’s actually because he was so nice and full of pleases and thank yours. He put on the nicest polite show. The dream guy your parents hoped you bring home, then the “Get me a coke” is out of character for everything else he just displayed and the dad caught it. It was the tone and demand after he was nothing but please, thank you, can I help you, etc… it was completely out of left field. Someone that says please and thank you and is polite as he was displaying would never order and would say please and ask.
