Not Aged Well

I'd not seen it and possibly if I'd watched it (good grief! 27 years) before I'd have fond memories. But watching it now the film style is clunky - big poses, slo-mo, triumphalist music, and the buddy-buddy relationship has been done better (or perhaps done too many times since), and Téa Leoni is a cute but totally awkward insertion in to the film.
Guess I won't be bothering to watch any of the sequels.

It's probably aged more gracefully that stars Smith and Lawerence though

To me it's better than Bad Boys 2.

I guess that's an added reason not to watch anymore then - thanks 😀

It wasn’t good in 1995. Saw it once back then and never watched it again and had no need to see any of the sequels.

Not aged well?! It was no good with which to begin!!

“We’re Negroes. Don’t be afraid!”

Téa Leoni was too good too be in this crap. How the HELL did Martin Lawrence get a career? He’s more annoying than an IRS audit. “This [sic] MIKE LAWREY [sic] bed-room [sic]. “ Three verbal faults in 1 fucking short sentence.

This is the type of errant pedantry up with which I will not put.

I think the film worked then & is still very watchable today. Smith & Lawrence had good comedic chemistry & Smith in particular really distinguished himself as a credible action star. Leoni did a good job of complimenting the chemistry between the two leads, in a role that could have easily come across as annoying.
