R.I.P. Aron 'Nog' Eisenberg

Very sad news that actor Aron Eisenberg has passed away aged 50. One of the most memorable characters in the show.

One of my favourite DS9 characters!

RIP Aron :(

I had just finished my sixth or seventh rewatch of the show a few months ago, and saw the DS9 Documentary just a few weeks ago, and I had really noticed the Nog episodes this time, he played the character like no one else could.

The interesting thing is that the DS9 documentary, among other things, features a ‘Season 8’ storyboard in which Nog dies. Painting a picture in which the death of Nog reunites the entire former cast, which returns to the station to unravel a mystery and conspiracy.

Eisenberg played Nog on all seven seasons of Deep Space Nine, and guest-starred as a young Kazon in the Voyager episode “initiations.” He also hosted two video podcasts about the series, one with Voyager‘s Garrett Wang and Big Brother‘s”Evel Dick” Donato, and another with his DS9 buddy Cirroc Lofton (Jake Sisko) called The 7th Rule. He was also a talented photographer, and a devoted husband and father.
