Do You Think Pink Got Away?

Thing is I do, even though his Wikipage & many of you here state he was arrested at the scene. Wiki is user/fan generated so I’m not taking that as gospel. Reason I don’t think he got busted is the cops staking out the place had to wait until Joe showed up in order to move in. Even then it’s not clear how long they felt they had to wait, but in between when everyone got killed in the standoff & Pink taking the diamonds & leaving the warehouse only a few minutes after that when Larry finds out Mr. Orange was a rat that we start to hear the police sirens signaling the cops starting to advance on the warehouse.

So yeah I believe he had time to leave & even if he was seen leaving I just think the police played it cool & didn’t chase him because Cabot was by far the bigger prize & who they really wanted to nail. If you were them & had seen Pink leave, you would’ve said to yourself “Ok this guy is splitting but we know he’s not Cabot & we know that everyone else besides him is still in the warehouse soooo” But you may find all of this implausible but I like to think that Pink got away. Any of you agree?

It's been a while since I watched it,but I seem to remember there being gunfire in the background & shouting from police almost immediately after Pink exited the warehouse, and then sudden silence just before the police go in there.

It's framed to be ambiguous, but realistically ,I think Pink got immediately taken down. There had been a lot of police & civilian deaths in the wake of this,so there's no way ANY of them are getting out alive at that point.

THAT^

Yeah that's what I took away from it also.

It's been years since I've seen it but that's how I remember it too.

The only reasonable example of a theory about Pink getting away, is the theory that he DOES get away, only to hide out as a waiter at Jack Rabbit Slims (since Buscemi plays "Buddy" in Pulp Fiction).

That would also be an ironic fate for Pink, since his character doesn't tip waitresses.

Makes sense.

Lol. I like that thought kirbyredd. In fact, I've played this game on other posts before. It's amusing to imagine the fate of certain characters dictated by the role the actor played in a subsequent film.

Watching it again the other night, there was no gunfire after he left. Pink got away, as he should, seeing as how he was the only one with any sense.

reply

yep I just watched this movie, if he didnt get away then he must have been very slow, was many minutes between when he ran out and sirens heard.

reply

No, he didn't get away. It's not ambiguous. It's just difficult to hear.

Watch the movie again. Wear headphones. Listen closely to the background noise, after the outside gunfire, right around the moment Orange tells Larry that he's a cop. You hear the cops shouting at Pink and Pink shouting back at them, saying at one point "Don't shoot! I've been shot, goddammit!" He was clearly arrested after a brief attempt to get away.

reply

No he didn't, you can hear him being arrested in the background and Tarantino even confirmed that he didn't get away.
