Hey shut up you worthless piece of shit!

I love this scene and the stabby milk carton reveal.

But...it begs the question on why Todd is even still alive up to that point. T1000 clearly didn't need him. Did he just want to play housewife and hone in on some cooking skills?

reply

T1000 played the mom because she was closer to John.

reply

Yes. And?

reply

The T 1000 wanted Todd to think that his own wife murdered him. It was part of his plan

reply

Maybe the T1000 just found her first so he took her form. And we don't know how long it had been at the house. It maybe have been there for less than an hour. And this was just the first time it had seen Todd. He may have been asleep on the couch or doing something in the garage. And killing Todd would have made another mess it would need to clean up and another body he would need to hide before John got home, which he wasn't sure when that would happen. It decided to kill Todd then because he was affecting its plan of sweet-talking John into coming home.

reply

Does the T1000 really seem like the type to give a shit about what bodies are where and what messes are left? 🤣

reply

😂 😂 😂

reply

Well if John walked into the house and found Todd's body lying on the floor in bloody hep, then he would immediately flee, and the T100 would blow its chance to get him. Whereas if John walked in and Janette is in the kitchen making dinner and Todd is watching Tv, he would think everything was normal and walk further into the house and trap himself.

reply

Uh huh.🤣🤣🤣

Really stretching this one thin, aren't ya?

"Whelp, for some reason I was forced to kill Todd on the front porch. John was three steps from the living room instead of five steps into the kitchen, where I needed to stay and wait for some reason. Guess I can't get him now."

reply

It is just a movie, the T-1000 is designed to complete its mission which was to kill John Connor, it really only kills when it has to maybe the T-1000 was programmed that way, only kill when really necessary and hide and blend more. It is a much sneakier terminator than the T-800 model.

reply

Everything you say here is wrong as John is with the T-101 and the T-1000 knows this. The T-1000 was trying to fool John on the phone and it didn't work cause it was ignorant of how Janelle really acted. And that is the point of the scene. That it was ignorant.

reply

All true. However, T-1000 was in a tough spot at that moment. John was aware now that a Terminator was after him, and the T-101 had made contact with him. It had no idea where John was, or where he was going. All he had was the foster parents address and Sarah's location at the psych ward. So he tried the foster parents house first, having already been there and being familiar with it and them, hoping that John would come back for some reason, perhaps to grab some things before going on the run. It was probably a long shot John would come back, but it was best it had at that point. Maybe John would flee from the T-101, thinking it might want to kill him as well. Or the T-1000 was hoping that the more primitive Terminator would be stupid enough to take him back to the house, thinking it could protect John there.

reply

It's uncertain what the motives were or how long the T1000 had been John's foster mother for but considering it transformed into her and took over doing the cooking duties I guess it was keeping up appearances for the sake of the dad, so everything looked normal in case John came back out of the blue. Otherwise there would like you say, be no reason to play the housewife. Once John got in touch on the phone, the possibility of him coming back out of the blue was extinguished, so no more need for Todd. At least that's my take on it.

reply

you hit the nail on the head spurtle

reply

That's my point. Why even bother keeping up appearances for the dad? Just get rid of him and wait for John to make contact. Why the charade?

reply

As previously stated, we don't know how long the T-1000 was Janelle. It could have been for only 10 minutes. When Todd walked into the kitchen that may have been the first time it had seen him since returning. Maybe Todd was asleep on the couch.

A common trait among Terminators is that they don't kill people unless it's for 1 of 3 reasons:
1) It's their mission.
2) You're interfering with their ability to complete their mission.
3) You get caught in the crossfire.

The T-100 was trying to sweet talk John into coming back to the house. When Todd walked into the kitchen and started yelling at the dog, he jeopardized its ability to do that. So now it's time for Todd to go.

reply

Presumably the T-101 can tell whether it's the real person or the T-1000 imitating, on inspection, but does the T-1000 know this? Just thinking that if everything looks normal and they're all alive, then it will help to lull John and/or the T-1000 into a false sense of security should they turn up, at least in the T-1000's mind. The T-1000 can't know for sure that John won't have escaped the clutches of the T-101 either. It may be aware they'd be cautious before entering and could possibly be looking from outside to see if there are signs they're both there still or if anything is out of the ordinary? I mean if you were John and you looked in through the window and saw Janelle getting dinner ready while Todd was there too, you probably wouldn't have any reason to suspect the T-1000 had got to them based on the T-101's judgement.
