WORST Bond girl ever: Maryum D'abo???

Maryum D'abo...Her cousin Olivia D'abo was the movie star in that family. Not even another Bond girl in this one. Dalton was good, however.

Still better than Tiffany Case, Rosie Carver, Mary Goodnight, Stacey Sutton and Christmas Jones

reply

I fail to see how D'Abo was a regular girl here. She was basically the girlfriend of a traitorous Russian general that was acting as a pseudo assassin.

The worst was Tanya Roberts in A View to a Kill. Now there's one where Bond had to deal with a ho hum regular chick. Stacy Sutton might as well have been some woman working at the local DMV, haha.

reply

4 out 5 maybe, the 1 being Tiffany Case. An argument can be made one of the best.

reply

The worst Bond girl: Diana Riggs, On Her Majesty's Secret Service, the movie is tedious to watch and Dame Riggs is miscast.

reply

Diana Riggs gives one of the best performances as Bond Girl though.

Bond films usually represent the times in which they are made. In the mid 80s promiscuity had temporarily gone out of fashion because of the AIDS scare. While I understand what they tried to do by giving Bond one steady girlfriend, I have to agree that it's stupid.

reply

I thought she looked ridiculous with that hair bob. It's all wrong for a square face like hers. As a woman I appreciate that she was smart and a fighter, more so than most Bond girls I've seen, yet does it without making James look like a eunuch.

I'm just jealous because she got to kiss Jeroen Krabbe. 😬

Appeasement is hoping the bear eats you last.

I agree, the hair cut was not particularly flattering. I've seen some photos with her hair to her shoulders and she's much more beautiful. However, that hair style was EN VOGUE in the 80's.

reply

Britt Eckland was worse. D'abo was bland but not horrible.

reply

The fact that these thread mentions almost every Bond girl as being the worst proves to me that tastes are in fact largely subjective.

reply

Nobody’s mentioned Ursula Andress as Honey Rider in Dr. No, but thank you. I fully agree with your point. It’s a pointless topic.

reply

uhm no.
she's actually pretty good in this!

reply

I thought she was pretty solid, and on another note, this is the only Bond film I viewed in the theater (I was 10, and still remember the film standee for "No Way Out" near the local village theater room entrance, since I went to view a bunch of films that summer).

reply

She was definitely among the worst. Don't think I cared for any of the Dalton Bond Girls. I would argue that Connery and Moore had the best.
