Fright Night vs. The Lost Boys?

Which do you prefer?

For me, it's Fright Night. But I will say that The Lost Boys has a slightly better finale.

Fright Night all the way!! I love The Lost Boys, but FN has always been one of my all time faves! You’re so cool Brewster!!

Lost Boys.

I really love the effects and atmosphere of Fright Night, but it's also a very frustrating film. I sort of wish they just did... more.

I did like that in the remake the main character was a little more proactive. It's probably also why I prefer The Lost Boys, because there are various characters who at least try to fight back or deal with the situation more immediately than in Fright Night.

That's not to say that Fright Night is bad, it's just not as masculine... or doesn't have the machismo factors as The Lost Boys. And yeah, as you pointed out, The Lost Boys has a better, more satisfying finale.

I think I would have been more forgiving if Fright Night started slow and then escalated with an over-the-top style action finale like Night of the Creeps, which was pretty crappy but did have a cool action sequence at the very end.

I like both but Fright Night is my favorite vampire movie.

Fright Night overall but it's very close. That and Lost Boys are my top two favorite vampire movies.

Lost Boys, but Fright Night has a charm to it that puts it above most vampire movies, (especially the sparkly lame ones).

The Lost Boys.

Fright Night is a great film too, just a bit lesser than The Lost Boys.

It's been way over ten years since I've seen either one.

Fond memories of both.
