Which ending was your favorite?

I personally thought ending A should have been the real ending, although I did also like B.

I watched a LOT of movies at the theater in the latter half of the 80s, this was one of the few that I missed, so I've always seen it with all 3 endings. I really think I like it this way...

I would have liked to see an ending where Colonel Mustard is the killer. He lied about inheriting money after his mother and father passed away, and he was actually guilty of killing the most people. He was a war profiteer and potentially killed many airmen by his greed. He just seemed like one guilty S.O.B to me.

Watch the film Murder By Death, and then all the endings to this one seem lame.

Why are you on here?

MBD is not an amazing film - and is hardly worth re-watching over and over... whereas Clue is.

Ending 1 is my favourite. it made the most sense to me. And the things leading up to it seemed to fit with almost anything. It was not all just red herrings. Everything was incorporated, like the maid and the secret doorways etc. Plus we saw the maid was familiar with the killer and so, imo, only ending 1 really works.

Ending 2 didn't work, IMO. No way the old lady could have moved the way she did. Interesting though in the sense that something fishy was about her from the beginning. But her game did just not add up the whole dinner setup. Was she even given a motive?

Ending 3: was too convenient and absurd to me. Why would a federal agent allow for six murders like this? Especially when the main bad guy was known to him. Also, why would each murderer risk murdering in such a situation risking being caught and so framed for all the other murders? Although preferred by most, to me the least. Too Mell Brooks, if I dare say.

When they used to show it on TV in the 80's you wouldn't get all three endings. It would be a different one each time. A was my favourite between A and B, but I like C because of how thrilled I was to finally see it years later.

I saw this in the theaters and didn't realize it had different endings until I walked out and noticed different times had the letters. I happen to see C,and think it's the best to this day.

The second one. It's the funniest, even though it makes the least sense.

Ending C is the most fun, but Ending A is the one I like to think of as the real one (since it exonerates everyone but Miss Scarlet who always gave a crafty femme fatale vibe in any case).
