Worst effect

The hands streching across the ally is my vote.

Best effect: The wall over Nancy. It was so creepy and well lit.

The alley thing always creeps me out though.

I haven’t seen that part in years but I know it’s one of the scenes that always sticks in my head.

Best effect: freddy glove in bathtub crotch shot

c'mon that's terrifying !

I think in the alley scene, Freddy's extended arms were meant to look distorted and asymetrical. I think it made the whole scene even creepier. And when he starts running with that creepy laugh, that truly WAS the stuff of nightmares. The only other part of the movie I liked and found creepy is when Freddy is chasing Nancy up the stairs...and her feet start sinking into the steps like they were made out of went cement, slowing her way down. That...and also when Freddy grunts "I'll kill you slow." That....was creepy.

I can understand you thinking it looks really fake but I like it. It's to shows that Freddy has a lot of power in peoples' dreams.

First of all, the movie is classic. Fir all the effects, this was my least favorite. But lets be honest, not every effect can be the best. This was the one I didn't like as much as the others:
The wall, glove in the tub, rotating room, quicksand stairs, bloodguiser, finger slicing, etc... the movie is packed with great effects. This is just the least of the amazing bunch.

I mean I said I could see why you didn't like it. Sheesh!
