I'm so glad they reshot the ending.

Sometimes, test audiences are right. They sort of recycled the original ending for "Christmas Vacation." It works better in that movie.

First I've heard of this. What did they reshoot?

Can you elaborate please? I know nothing about the edited scenes of Vacation.

Since this guy can't be a***d to write back, this is what he means -

Thanks. It's a good thing they changed it because the original cut would have been stupid and make Clark look evil.

Eh it wasn’t funny in Christmas Vacation either. I’m glad the original was the way it was, plus with the theatrical ending we get John Candy.

"Also cut: the entire original ending, in which Clark arrives at the amusement park (no longer Disneyland, but the fictional Walley World) to find it is temporarily closed, causing him to fly into a rage and take the park's creator hostage in his own home."

"Chevy just snaps and decides to go to Roy Walley's house. ... So we shot this whole sequence with Roy Walley and some executives, Chevy takes them prisoner with a pellet gun he's bought, and makes them sing and dance for him because he wants his dime's worth of entertainment."
