I take issue with the finale being a dream.

Unlike the first movie you can't say when Ginny fell asleep. It's very unclear. Did it start after Paul carries Ginny back to the cabin? Or did Ginny actually pass out earlier? Or is the entire finale a dream? It isn't clear. It's easier to say it happened and that Paul was killed and Ginny managed to stab Jason right after forcing him to leave for the later events of Part 3 to happen. Cause there is no indication that she ever passed out or slept.

I never thought it was a dream. I doubt she would have had time to take a nap after all that.

It was totally a dream. The dog was clearly dead so it could only come back in a dream.

reply

Well obviously, Muffin has the ability to come back from the dead, much like Jason himself.

Muffin Vorhees.

I don't think it was a dream. She went into shock and passed out when Jason came through the window. Paul probably tried to fight him off which is why he is not there afterwards.

If it was real and not a dream, one can come to the logical conclusion that Paul told Jason, "I will shave your head and give you a whole bunch of steroids because you have a busy day tomorrow of terrorizing some teens at Higgins Haven. In exchange, you let me and Ginny go."

We can clearly see Jason got a haircut and bulked up massively within a day between Part 2 and Part 3.
