Back in the 1970s, his nipple exposure was pretty gratuitous for the times and seemed kind of "overwhelming" where the anatomy of TV stars were concerned. It was an unforgettable sight to see for some viewers and one that they never forgot. I first saw his chest when "Jack" died of old age in the barn and I was "awed" by how large Pa's nipples were. It seemed kind of indecent to me way back then, but it's an observation that's always stayed with me. You can't help, but notice his chest whenever he's shirtless.
