Why do I feel like the movie has a "TV" quality to it?

I felt as the production was more "TV-like" than "movie-like," but I could not explain why I felt that way. It felt more like tape than film? Can someone help me here? Thanks!

seemed like a Twilight Zone episode

And an excellent one at that.

reply

Because it looks cheap. And way too many zoom shots.

reply

I love the zoom shots. They're reminiscent of Neddie himself: also zeroing in only what he wants to see, at the expense of the cold, hard facts.

reply

It's more of a "slice of life" kind of thing instead of a big, grand, sweeping, theatrical epic.

reply

I hated how they froze the final shot; that was very reminiscent of a TV movie.

reply

But the final freeze shot originated in films, not on TV, which later adopted it.

I had the same feeling during the film’s opening showing the shots of various wild animals; it seemed dated and tv-quality.

i have no clue what you're talking about

reply

I know what you mean...but its hard to explain.
