strange how the british emphasize ...

breakfast over other meals

reply

do they? Why do you say that?

I think they give entirely too much emphasis to meat pies, eels and chips.

reply

i guess you have never had a full english breakfast

reply

Breakfast should be your biggest meal. By dinner, you should barely be eating anything. Eating a large dinner explains a lot about America's weight problem (whoops, I mean, America's Big and Beautiful problem).

reply

It’s the most important meal of the day.

reply

is this still the case. you see it a lot in older british movies and tv.

reply

I think as society has changed and people seem to be on the go a lot more, many skip breakfast or just have something quick and easy (I just have a coffee and a banana Monday to Friday).

reply

Interesting discussion, but what does all this have to do with The Prisoner?

reply

it's a cultural discussion.

reply

Maybe best suited on the Politics Board (I’m kidding).

Breaking Bad would like to have a word with you.

I read something once about British cuisine. It stated, "The best way to eat well in England is to eat breakfast three times a day."

I'd agree with that. I spent a lot of time in London (I was a flight attendant for a while) and the British cuisine leaves a lot to be desired. The crews I worked with always ate in Italian restaurants. However, in Rome, I never saw an "English Restaurant"!

No offense to the Brits. Anyway, their breakfasts are good. Love those scones too.
