Bruce Lee
I found out on YouTube he appeared twice on the show, and lived in the same condo building as Bert Ward. They were friends, in addition Bert also has a black belt in karate.

shareInteresting. Which episodes did he appear in ? I absolutely adore this show, but cannot remember Lee in it.
shareI don't recall the narrator posting the segment's names. You will have to research it. I was born in '67, but recall mom liked the Green Hornet. I never saw any of the films based on the iconic shows. I also read somewhere Bruce was a great ballroom dancer, and had partial German ancestry. I would love to see his biopic from the 90's. I recall his daughter hosted a martial arts program years ago.
shareAccording to IMDB:
- Batman's Satisfaction (1967) ... Kato
- A Piece of the Action (1967) ... Kato
- The Spell of Tut (1966) ... Kato (uncredited)
I think 2 are a back to back episode and 1 was a batman climbing wall gag. But I could be wrong
There were a couple of crossover episodes where Batman and Robin met the Green Hornet and Kato (played by Bruce Lee).
shareNot all black belts are created equally. For example, my Master is a 15th dan black belt. Ward was probably a 1st dan. There was 1 episode of Batman where Kato was going to fight Robin, and lose to him. Bruce Lee did not like that at all. The fight was going to begin with Lee running down a flight of stairs to get to Robin. Instead, Bruce JUMPED FROM THE TOP OF THE STAIRS TO THE FLOOR. Ward thought he was going to die, because Lee really could have killed him. Instead, Bruce complied with the script. As Bruce Lee once said, “A black belt is good for holding up your pants.” What matters is what you can really do.
share15th Dan?
Odd that really seeing as it only goes up to 10th in Karate, Judo and Tae Kwon Do. What martial art is it that your master does?
No way that your master is as good as Robin. When your master hits someone, does his fist make a sound like "ZADONG!"? Or when he kicks someone, is there an accompanying "STISH!" or "R'LYEH!" noise? Didn't think so.
