The beginning of the marathon...

So, without meaning to be, here I am at 3 AM, watching the Howling Man and Where is Everybody. Didn't mean to be up this late, but here I am watching two of my favorites. Anyone else out there?

reply

Time for fabulous Gladys Cooper (and handsome Robert Redford). I sure hope death really is this easy and comforting.

reply

Do you think the contractor is somehow working with Death?

reply

No -- I think he's just a plot device to show us that others can't see Redford's character.

reply

Ha ha, me too! I love this ep.

reply

Puplover, I like to think that, if Death comes as a gentle young man, he looks like Cary Grant (Redford is gorgeous, of course, but I like dark good looks), sounds like Herbert Marshall, and dances me away like Fred Astaire.

reply

Oh my. Herbert Marshall-- one of my favorites. I would take him as the whole package. Who needs dancing? The two of us could hop off on one leg into the sunset...

reply

LOL! I agree -- Marshall was very attractive.

I simply can't leave Fred and Cary out of my fantasies, though.

reply

We are allowed to populate our fantasies with whomever we wish!

reply

I want Grover from Sesame Street to escort me to the next life.

reply

Grover! What a great idea -- laughing all the way to heaven.

reply

“Five Characters...” ballerina is quite lovely.

reply

It's time for Shatner and that adorable, cuddly -- er, totally terrifying creature on the plane wing.

reply

I’m off with mr portrait. Sorry to miss that one.

reply

Have fun! Happy New Year!

reply

Hello Kimnet. I was awake at the start of the marathon yesterday but not able to watch television.

reply

Hi! Were you working the night shift? I sure didn't mean to be up but somehow there I was. Been watching all day today but busy doing stuff so haven't been posting. But, finally I am throwing in the towel at 5 AM lol.

reply

No, I'm naturally a night person, but my sleeping schedule often fluctuates.

reply

Me too, obviously! I like being up at night and I've always just been that way but it does make it hard to function in a world that works the opposite way lol.

reply

I will be staying up for the amazing "And When The Sky Was Opened."

reply

That's a great one! I just saw the last episode of the marathon on the guide. They should've ended the marathon at the same time as the title (even tho the AM and PMs would be off), just like they should show Midnight Sun at midnight. Not the greatest episode to end on tho...

I assume, then, that the phone call OK'ing the bridge in 'Will the Real Martian Please Stand Up' was staged by the alien? I notice he looked at the phone just before it rang, and he caused it to ring later.

reply

Amazing that he can cause such a distinctive illusion where the other end of the phone is a voice familiar to the state police officer that convinces him to okay the drive over the bridge. A bit grander than making a jukebox start up and phone to ring
