Does Fantasia feel timeless?

I believe so but others may disagree

Timeless is the perfect word to describe it. I can't believe it was made in 1940, that blows my mind.

While the original Fantasia, on the whole, doesn't hold the same special place in my heart regarding movies as West Side Story does, it is another oldie-but-goody classic, just the same.

reply

I just watched it and this is exactly what i thought.

reply

when i watch it i see in it all the cartoons that came after it that were influenced by it. i wish walt would have made a fire and ice/lord of the rings animated type film back then.

reply

I think it's timeless.

reply

Watching it as i type and im still blown away by the whole production.

Miles ahead of its time.

Parsecs ahead of its time. Decades ahead of Leonard Bernstein’s “Young People’s Concerts” TV series in the 50s, the idea of the which this movie anticipated. Music develops cognition in children.

I’m saddened, but not surprised, by how many derisive “boring” comments this section has about Fantasia—comments transferred from the allegedly erudite IMDb message boards. I. Am. Not. Impressed.

Certainly not nearly as impressed as you IMDb sycophants are with yourselves and your clique.

The Deems Taylor interludes between the pieces were completely unnecessary and make the film feel dated.

Let the music speak for itself!

Taylor's introductions to each section are very informative and humorous.
Unfortunately, not everyone is such an educated music expert like Wikipedia and you.
