I just made the post to see Genghis Khan "trending"

I'd bump Genghis Khan's descendent Dingus Con as well, but it looks like that's already happening.

Genghis Khan never goes out of style.

Well, I guess he's been portrayed in film, so it makes sense that he is on this site.

reply

He wasn't just portrayed in film, he played himself in the documentary "Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure".

He had some pretty sweet moves with that aluminum baseball bat too. I sure wouldnt have wanted to be any of those security guards in the mall that day

reply

He would have messed them up beyond recognition!

I've heard that he's still considered to be THE national hero of Mongolia, the George Washington of his nation, and as such the government built him this staggeringly massive and tasteless monument:

Nobody knows where he's buried, BTW, the funeral was kept so secret that everyone who helped in the burial was executed... and then the executioners were executed in case someone had made any last confessions. Looking for Khan's tomb is a thing among archeologists, but God knows what the Mongolian government would do if they actually found the place...

Or they could do what's been done at the South Pole, which is to build a fake south pole display somewhere more convenient than the actual south pole, where adventurous tourists can get their pictures taken without disturbing whatever is happening at the real site.

So if I ran Mongolia, and had to choose between those all-important tourist dollars and pissing off the mighty spirit of Genghis Khan himself, that's what I'd do.

Dictators are very popular, no matter what country you're talking about. The more brutal, the more better.

Is that the new Republican party slogan or something?
