Phoebe What-a-Bitch Ruins Indiana Jones

Leaving a long skidmark of a career of crappy performances as unlikeable characters.

Prove me wrong or you touch kids.

reply

I can't wait to watch her career crash and burn.

reply

She has her eyes on Tomb Raider now. Lara Croft next victim.

reply

Luckily Angelina Jolie and that other actress made decent films before Phoebe Waller Bitch ever got near them.

reply

Yeah, the Jolie movies, particularly the first one, were good. Phoebe will be in charge of a Tomb Raider tv series apparently and she’s already giving bad signs.

reply

Maybe this Indy 5 flop will give the producers pause.

reply

Apparently the Amazon ceo is now asking where all the money they are spending on their film studio has gone, lol.

She was miscast, but the film had other issues as well.

reply

It is the same role she played in Fleabag, which was a success, at least I think women liked her in it, so they are probably doing the same here, hoping to get the same result.

reply

Her character is just another self-insert for Kathleen Kennedy as seen in almost every Lucasfilm movie for the last decade.

reply

Then for some reason she sees herself as a British woman. Both Daisy Ridley and Phoebe Waller-Bridge are British.

reply

I think it has more to do with them being all being self-empowered, stunning and brave brunettes.

reply

To think of it, Felicity Jones in Rogue One is also British, Kathleen Kennedy definitely has a British brunette fetish.

reply

I don't blame her. I blame the script and direction. She didn't write the plot, characters, or dialogue. Her character was an mugging turdnugget, but that's on the writing and directing.

reply

That is an interesting point.

You don't think that the right actor in her role could have pulled off what was written without coming across as totally insufferable?

Do you think that whoever had been cast, no matter their charisma or ability to spin words on a page such as these, the character would 100% always be totally unlikeable?

reply

A good actor can turn a bad script into a good performance, but the director and editor decide what works in the end.
A director has control over running scenes to get the right performance, I put it on him. Actors are meatpuppets. The director is the one pulling the strings at filming.

Why Helena Shaw Ruined Indiana Jones

Spoiler warning in case you haven't seen the film yet!

I didn’t plan on making a video on Indiana Jones 5, but after seeing it in theaters I had to share my thoughts. As I mention towards the end of the video, there are a lot of issues with the film, but the most prominent and noticeable one lies with the character of Helena Shaw. This video is a bit more of a rant than a video essay, but don't worry, I'm working on a big project that will be out eventually. In the meantime, leave a comment and tell me if you agree or disagree with my thoughts on Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.

If you dislike her so much, that confirms that she did an excellent job of playing an unlikeable character. Unless, of course, you don't know the difference between an actor and a role.

You definitely touch kids.

reply

Do you think that they intended for the character to be disliked?

reply

And you just gave an excellent reason why indy 5 bombed at the box office.
