She's going to have to change that horribly racist last name
Remember how we're not allowed to use the word "niggardly" (stingy) any more because it sounds too close to a racial slur? This is the same type of thing.

shareOne of the radio stations I listen to would play "Starships" by Nicki Minaj. There is a line in the song that says "My name is Onika", and they censored "Onika" from the song because of the way it possibly sounds like the slur if you don't know the actual lyrics.

I know what gold does to men's souls.
Ruth Negga was born in Ethiopia as you probably know. I think the USA is the only country on the planet that uses the "n" word. I could be wrong. Her last name is not racist; the people who use the "n" word are racist.
shareRapper Rich Chigga actually changed his name into Rich Brian to avoid uneeded controversy. He was born in Indonesia.
shareLots of people have unfortunate last names yet choose not to legally change them. She's an academy award nominated actress, her name is her brand. It would not make sense for her to change it now but she certainly has the right to if she wants.
shareI realize you are being sarcastic, but your point is valid.
shareI'd be scared to even pronounce her name the wrong way accidentally.
