You'll have to guess what he's being charged for. The article doesn't say. It can't possibly be for lying because if a politician lying is a criminal offense now, Joe Biden is toast.
Of course, as we all know, if the Deep State wants you they can find a reason to arrest you and if they don't want you, as with Hunter Biden, mammoths will roam the earth again before the FBI finishes their investigation and since it's an "on-going" investigation they can't talk about it.
Apparently he was using campaign funds as his own personal piggy bank, which is a federal crime. But that's typical for the GOP. Duncan Hunter's corrupt ass was arrested for the same and still got elected after the fact.

Rep. George Santos is now in federal custody, according to a spokesperson for the Eastern District of New York.
Santos was taken into custody in Melville, Long Island, where the FBI is housed, a law enforcement source tells CNN. From there, he was taken to the courthouse in Central Islip.
CNN was first to report on Tuesday that federal prosecutors filed criminal charges against the New York lawmaker. He is expected to appear in court as soon as this afternoon.
Trump got much gentler treatment than Santos is getting. share
I don't care if he's a liar the Democrats and Regime have no moral high ground in attempting to prosecuted him. This another example of political persecution of one of their enemies.
