What happened with his career?

The guy is talented and passionate about acting and no new role for him? I loathe Hollywierd.

He dated TSwift and kinda came across as an attention whore. He really didn't need to do all of that. It just made him look bad.

reply

That whole Taylor Swift stuff really turned me off of him. I thought he was smarter and better than trailer park trash like that.

reply

Yeah made him look dorky and Püssy whip

reply

Considering I believe it was for show purposes only.

Unfortunately, these actors nowadays want shine so badly that even relationships are treated like career opportunities. I think he was just desperate to level up and get something better. If they were more earnest and just focused on working, the public won't turn on them. He's trying to turn it around now but it'll take time.

reply

Me too. I used to like him and scoured for his other films but after the Swift incident, I just lost all respect. I'll still watch his films but I'm no longer a fan.

reply

What's the problem with Swift? She's a talented singer, musician, and one of the rare modern pop stars that writes (and also co-writes) their own songs.

Plus she's insanely gorgeous. Can't blame Tom for being wooed.

reply

I don't care for her.

reply

I knew you were trouble when you walked in!

;)

reply

Lol, sorry!

She is pretty in a Gibson girl classical look, I'll give you that though!

I’m not sure what you mean OP?

- This September Tom will be the titular lead in Hamlet (Kenneth Branagh/RADA production); a sold out, limited run, and highly anticipated production.

- In October Thor: Ragnarok will be released (you’ve heard of Loki!)

- The movie Early Man is being filmed, with Tom as the voice of Lord Nooth (costar Eddie Redmayne).

- Avengers: Infinity War is out in 2018, and brings us more Loki

- Work is being done on the (directed by Ben Wheatley) movie Hard Boiled, which is set to star Tom

- Also in the works is Close Enough (director Paul Andrew Williams, costar Hayley Atwell), and sees Tom still slated to star as the lead role of Robert Capa

- And talks for a Night Manager season two are being taken seriously, and will bring back the whole cast

Seems his career is doing quite well! :-)

Yeah, along with leading one of this year's most successful blockbusters, he's going to reprise his beloved villainous role in one of the most anticipated releases by Marvel this year--and he will also be a part of next year's gigantic Infinity War. (Btw, even if Loki was really his only noteworthy role, being part of a big franchise such as Marvel is nothing to write off.) As for anything else, like already mentioned he has some other quality roles lined up.

I do get it if you would like to see him starring in more movies that would maybe attract some Oscar notice. But at the moment, he has a career almost any actor would be happy to have (the whole T-Swift fiasco notwithstanding).

reply

Yeah, what happened?
