I know nothing about either one's marriage, but from Ewan's perspective it looks like a physical failing on his part as he's middle-aged and couldn't resist the temptation.

Mary's husband looks very much like a Beta/Intellectual hipster type so she probably fell in love with his mind while not being concerned with the physical aspects of marriage.

Actors are human beings after all. Funny how some people put Ewan on an Obi Wan pedestal and Mary W Stans prop her up like some kind of princess. I'm not married, but over 75% of my friends and family members who did get married have since filed for divorce because of infidelity.

She'll be appearing with McGregor in 'Birds of Prey'.

Seeing as he's the main villain, and she's one of the key heroes, I can only imagine that they'll share some scenes together.
