Hopefully she is cast in the upcoming Harry Potter TV series

It is probably a long shot but I really can't see anyone other than her playing Hermoine. Maybe they cast her and create new characters for the show that interact with some of the original cast for the movies?

reply

Nope. I read an article on Facebook around April 10th-13th that said she is giving the reboot TV show a middle finger. Mainly because J.K. is involved with it. As long as J.K. is involved with the reboot, Emma wants nothing to do with it.

reply

Oh, do you have a link to the article? Didn't know she has said anything about this reboot TV show.

reply

I suppose *really* young kids are naive and stupid enough to have no opinions about trans rights, but I wonder how they'll feel once they're in their teens, and realise that the woman who hired them is a frothing bigot who is generally regarded as a pariah among many members of Generation Z.

reply

She is not "a frothing bigot." Enough already. Believing biological men are not women is not bigotry; this idea that they are is a very recent attempt to rewrite biological reality in support of a political agenda, and to crush any heretics who dare to buck the woke orthodoxy. Disagreement does not equal bigotry and hate.

And any members of Generation Z who think Rowling is "a frothing bigot" are indoctrinated sheeple who are blindly following the woke herd. Baaaaaah. Baaaaah. Baaaah.

Watson and Radcliffe are disgraceful ingrates who are failing to show an ounce of grace or decency to the very person who is responsible for them sitting comfortably atop piles of money, and never having to work again if they don't want to. If it hadn't been for Rowling, they'd be working in a shoe store, or in some civil service job, or as a dental assistant, or be acting nobodies, still waiting for that big break 99% of actors never get. Because of her, they are set for life. They ought to show a little gratitude, not to mention tolerance -- which after all, is not coming around and agreeing with things you formerly didn't; it's learning to live with the things you don't approve of, and still treating people decently despite the disagreement.

reply

Oh good!

She's a TERRIBLE actress, literally anyone else they hire would be better.

reply

LOL not true

JK Rowling has final say on anything Potter. Therefore Dan, Rup, Emma aka the traitors are toast in terms of HP.

reply

I think she's virtue-signalled her way out of that being an option.

reply

No. She gave an honest opinion, rather than feeling obliged to think and speak as her 'master' thinks she should. Good on Watson, Radcliffe and Grint for having opinions of their own. They are no more obliged to think like JKR than they are obliged to think like their parents.

reply

“Good on Watson, Radcliffe and Grint for having opinions of their own.”

Watson and co. are just going along with the mainstream view with their opinions. Hardly an opinion of their own.

reply

How could they possibly do that ? They will have to cast around ten year old children and then they grow up season by season the same as in the films.

reply

True. This is going to be a complete reboot.

reply

Yeah. It's funny some people seem not to get that. Having a 33 year-old Watson play an 11 year-old Hermione entering her first year at Hogwarts at the start of the new series would be... a rather unique casting choice.

reply

Surely the whole point is that they cast entirely new people.

I wonder if JKR will have final casting approval, as I believe she did on the original films. And I wonder if this time she'll ensure that her cast aren't liable to end up disagreeing with her over trans rights in the future.

reply

Well as it seems she is set in not being part of this or the Cursed Child movie if JK Rowling is involved. Guess Watson won't be in it because there is no way Rowling is not part of these projects. I don't think this a good career move for her to be honest and when it comes to the whole trans thing Watson is in the wrong side frankly.
