Should Virginia's governor resign?

I'm not sure he's any better than the rapist Lt. Gov.

reply

Alleged rapist. Just like Kavanaugh: alleged rapist.

reply

If public opinion, IN VIRGINIA, by honest fair objective polls a is a supermajority that he should resign, then yes, otherwise the voters can have at this in the next election.

I heard someone ( a black man ) say why is this conversation all taking place in the white media, is anyone asking black people?

What we are getting in these things are media blitzes that always try to ramrod something through, and we find out later in most cases they are attacks from the right. All of Al Franken's accusers were Republican or right-leaning, and the first two worked for FOX News.

How far does this go, where does it lead. Do billionaires and the Republican think tanks have enough resources to infiltrate the Democrats and finance candidates they know will lose to simulate to our people and the world that we are democratic, when we are moving away from democracy in a bee-line as fast as our fake media will carry us?

What determines if an issue is big enough to deserve to interrupt the public and put this information before them? Who determines if the reaction is serious or just a capricious flexing of public muscle for fun? If we had a press and media that reported on people we would know about this guy and his record.

reply

I feel like this is a nontroversey.

Trump is doing a lot of things wrong, but his opposition is too busy whining about optics and playing up the #MeToo sham when in reality a majority of Americans are worried about their economic survival. Black Democrats are the only ones who should be fuming and caterwauling over this issue, but you're right, it's more of a media hounding side story nothing else.

reply

At the very least it needs to be investigated. But investigated thoroughly. Not that lukewarm Kavanaugh bullshit.

reply

The last thing you want is for women to go to the police instead of to the media.

reply

Yeah. The way he's handled this is terrible.

reply

True He didn't handle this well at all.

reply

.

reply

Yes, but democrats are better than republicans. So they wouldn't do something like this.

reply

No, unless the state has a referendum and voters vote for him to resign.

People not only still wear blackface in the performing arts (which they shouldn't....), but actors/actresse/musicians and ahem WOMEN pack their face with make-up, including make-up that makes them look dark-skinned and lighter-skinned. Look at Anne Hathaway, she wears "whiteface" to make herself look like a 12 year old snow white. Forest Whitaker wore blackface for The Last King Of Scotland and won an Academy Award. People routinely dress as Hitler, Stalin, a Klansperson, a Nazi, a playboy bunny, a sex slave with whips, etc, for costume/Halloween parties and 99% of people don't care. Even when elementary or high school students do it most people don't care.

As for the sexual assault accusations against the Lt Governor, if the accusers file official police reports and police start an investigation, then he should be put on paid leave during the investigation, and any resignation should hinge on an indictment/arrest/charges.

For the record I'm a female and dismissed Christine Blasey Ford as a lying deranged scumbag (to this day she refuses to contact the proper Maryland police authorities to at least file an official report for the record, and all the people she named as witnesses refuted her account under oath) and also dismiss the entire "MeToo" movement as one big PATHETIC failed political stunt. There's females who make bad decisions that result in consenting to unwanted sexual situations, almost all females have been through that, and then you have real rape, then you have political stunts. (And no, Kavanaugh should never have been nominated let alone confirmed. His equally deranged conspiracy-theory nutjob response to Blasey Ford should have resulted in Republicans forcing him to withdraw his nomination. His endless perjury under oath should have forced him to withdraw.)

A majority of black voters, 56 percent, say Northam should not quit.....

https://www.politico.com/story/2019/02/20/ralph-northam-virginia-poll-1176071

Excerpt:

In a Quinnipiac University poll, 42 percent of voters say Northam should resign — but more, 48 percent, say he shouldn’t. White voters are split evenly — 46 percent say he should resign, and the same percentage say he shouldn’t — but a majority of black voters, 56 percent, say Northam should not quit.

Even fewer Virginians say Northam should resign in a second poll out Wednesday, conducted by Ipsos Public Affairs for the University of Virginia Center for Politics. In that poll, which surveyed adults in the commonwealth, only 31 percent say Northam should resign, compared to 43 percent who say he shouldn’t.

Both polls show scant support for impeaching Northam. In the Quinnipiac poll, only 26 percent say Northam should be impeached, while nearly two-in-three voters, 65 percent, say he shouldn't. In the Ipsos/U-Va. poll, just 21 percent say the General Assembly should remove Northam, while 56 percent say state legislators shouldn't impeach the governor.

Blacks also view OJ Simpson and Michael Jackson as heros. Most racist people you can find, they only see one color, black.

reply

I don't know any African-Americans who view Simpson as a hero or innocent. Most people view Michael Jackson as a hero, groundbreaking, etc. The most racist people I find are white people in the US because they control the country and they historically institutionalized (codified into law, into policies, into protocol) policies to keep minorities and females in their place.

reply

Black people don't mind getting rid of cows for global warmin cuz all dey eat is chickin.

reply

Why didn't we let black people decide if Al Franken should resign?
