The legendary actor Chaim Topol passes away at age 88, he known for his unforgettable role as Tevye in Fiddler on the Roof. He won two Golden Globes for his role in Salah Shabati and Fiddler on the Roof.
It's sad news for me and many others in Israel and around the world, he was one of my favorite actors, I even meet him few times, maybe the greatest Jewish actor in my opinion.

R.I.P. Topol Fiddler on the Roof is an outstanding musical. And Tevye was an unforgettable character. My son was only three when he saw this movie (at home). He loved it and made me play the "If I Was a Rich Man" scene over and over. He used to sing it everywhere.
It's as though that role was written just for him.
