I totally disagree. The Dark Knight was excellent. It was a well crafted, entertaining film with an intelligent screenplay and great performances. It was nothing like law and order. Nolan is neither pretentious or a hack.

So the 2 and a half hour Dark Knight felt like it was an hour long? That's the testament of a great filmmaker. Also, Law & Order is not pretentious so I don't know why you'd compare the Dark Knight to it. Also, I wouldn't judge a filmmaker on one movie.

I thought the prestige was ok and insomnia was pretty good. All his other works are pretentious pieces of garbage that have no soul.

Nolan is one of the greatest filmmakers ever and he has never made a bad movie and has only made 2 films that weren't masterpieces (Insomnia and Dunkirk).
