This asshole kept us out of the Olympic Games

He decided the USA should boycott the 1980 Olympics in Moscow because he had some political bug up his ass. I had friends who qualified for the 1980 USA team and whose years of training were betrayed by this wimp.

The Soviets boycotted the Los Angeles Olympics in 1984 in response to the American “fuck you,” so Carter created a complete lose/lose scenario for the Olympic Games, which were created in 884 B.C.

I will always savor the famous New York Times headline about Carter, “Mush From the Wimp.” So richly deserved.

I agree 100% . Boycotting the Olympics had no effect on the Soviet Union.

True. For his own selfish political reasons, this asshole ruined the aspirations of all the U.S. athletes, as well as the foreign athletes who had hoped to compete against them, not only in the 1980 games, but the 1984 games when the Soviets retaliated by not coming to Los Angeles. Those people put in years and years of dedication and hard work, and this idiot just cut them off. Worst president of all time, up until January 20, 2021.

Don't feed the disinfo troll. R_Kane is disinfo, clearly, probably not even from the United States. This is what they do, pass for "American," to bait Americans into fighting each other.

The Soviet Union INVADED AFGHANISTAN in 1979 to spread influence there. But an "American" is writing this incident off as Carter having a "bug up his ass?" (Are you effing kidding me?)

Posts like this are why I registered at MC. It's HILARIOUS to see how many phonies and fakes are pretending to be Americans on this site, who are really disinfo. Who the hell was alive in 1979 and 1980 and writes off the fact that the Soviet Union invaded Afghanistan and that this is why we boycotted the Olympics? You didn't have to agree with Carter's decision, but that was the reason why we did it. It was peak Cold War, when everyone was scared shitless about Soviet aggression.

I mean, seriously, man, EFF OFF, R_Kane and all the "puppets" at MC. I registered at MC for this very purpose, so that no one offline can think I'm crazy when I say that disinfo trolls are all over cyberspace.

Why should American athletes have had their dreams crushed because the Soviet Union invaded Afghanistan? Carter ruined the 1980 Olympics for all those people who spent years training. He just used them to make a political point about something they had nothing to do with. You have to have a pretty low IQ not to comprehend what a chickenshit move it was. Carter was a weak president, probably the worst until Biden took over that honor.

It was the right call. Sixty-six other countries boycotted too.

Sure, I felt bad for all the athletes from boycotting counties, but again, it was the right call.
