I thought all the Monkees were deceased?

Glad to know that Mickey is still alive. I guess it was Nesmith who died last, yeah?
That must be kind of sad to be the last member of a famous group like that.
Like what Paul or Ringo will feel when the other passes away.
The Monkees first album was the first record I ever got as a kid. Still hear that music.
Heard "Last Train To Clarksville" the other day in the Whole Foods and had to smile.
I liked "Take A Giant Step" too.

There is also only one member of the Temptations, Bee Gees, Supremes, Mamas and Poppas, Four Tops, Shang Gra Lis, Chi-Lites, and Ronnettes as well. All before my time, but classic tunes. I guess the staff at Whole Foods like retro music. They play it at Chicago locations as well.

The Band also has only one member left (Garth Hudson)

Now those bands are called:

The Temptation, Bee Gee, Supreme, Mama or Poppa, One Top, Shang Gra Li, Chi-Lite, and the Ronnette.

It is sad only Mickey is left. It was my favorite group as a child and I'm happy their music is still appreciated.

I think there is something about drummers, maybe it's the aerobic exercise they get playing their instruments, lugging them around and setting them up.

reply

Didn't work out for Keith Moon, Jon Bonham, Neil Peart or Charlie Watts, sadly.

reply

They had over-riding health and lifestyle problems.
Watts lived to 80, above the average.
He was also never an overly energetic drummer either.

Sounds like a great documentary: "The Last Monkee"
